The only measurement that changes between the sizes (17, 20, 23, and 26) is the distance from the bottom of the center knot to the tip of the blade (measurement shown below).

  

The best way to determine your size is to measure from your clavicle to your waist or where you want the tie to stop on your body.  I personally believe that the waist is a great place to stop.  However, Gina Torres, wore a necktie in Netflix's The Perfect Find movie that extended past her waist and looked amazing!  Link here for a picture of her wearing the tie: https://www.instagram.com/p/CuZ5oMtPI5L/?utm_source=ig_web_button_share_sheet&igsh=ZDNlZDc0MzIxNw==.  The purpose of these ties is not to add more rules, but to expand the thinking of what is possible and available in all spaces, so wear your tie the way you want to!

Fit Tip: When styling the manequins for photos, I often did not button the top button of the shirt.  When styling your tie, you may want to consider leaving the top button of your shirt unbuttoned.
